| Intro to Babywearing Thinking of buying a sling or carrier and wondering where to start? There are literally thousands of different carriers out there, from slings to wraps to mei tais and all kinds of other traditional, handmade and brand name products. The whole idea can be very overwhelming at first. We're here to help! Please consult the UPCOMING EVENTS link for Intro to Babywearing classes. | Details about Intro to Babywearing: - Intro to Babywearing is split into two classes: one for newborns and one for babies four months and up. Each is held at least once per month.
- The class will include descriptions (including pros and cons) of ring and pouch slings, mei tais, wraps and structured carriers; an outline of the benefits of babywearing; safety tips; how to choose a sling and time for one-on-one trouble-shooting. Examples of each type will be on hand to touch, feel and try on.
- Pre-registration is required for this class.
- This event is also free to members. Other interested parties may register for $10, and receive a certificate for $10 off the future purchase of any carrier purchase at Womb To Grow.
- Each registered person may bring a partner or friend, covered by the $10 price (or purchase of a carrier). However there is only one coupon per registered customer (ie. if you bring a friend, they will not receive the coupon unless they register separately).
- Feel free to bring slings and carriers you already own, especially if you have specific questions about their use.
- Please register by phone (423.3303) or EMAIL no later than 24 hours before the event. Don't forget to include your name, e-mail and phone number. We will contact you for payment. Registration is first-come, first-served. Be aware that these workshops often fill up fast, and it is wise to register at least a week in advance to guarantee your spot.
- Intro to Babywearing is held at the Fernie Women’s Resource Centre, 691A 4th Avenue.
