'Birth' a play by Karen Brody
On October 22 and 23rd eight local mothers will step on stage at The Arts Station and bring to life the incredible vision of playwright Karen Brody.
Birth offers Fernie the opportunity to witness the present day realities of giving birth under a system that does not facilitate normal birth for low risk mothers.
As a doula, childbirth educator, aspiring midwife, artist and most importantly a mother; I am thrilled to direct and perform in this revolutionary piece of theatrical activism.
Not only is this a great piece of art, it is also an amazing opportunity to raise money for organizations dedicated to mother and baby friendly childbirth initiatives.
